MEET THE ARTIST: Nate Gonzalez (aka NateMoonLife) is a Santa Monica based graphic designer and illustrator with a focus on creating art for bands, musicians and brands of all types. He runs and designs for his own clothing brand, The Moon Life. Nate's work draws inspiration from the psychedelic era, mid-century design, pop art, and underground counter-culture movements, reflecting a retro aesthetic in a contemporary context.

MEANING BEHIND THE DESIGN: This poster draws inspiration from The Who's album and movie "Quadrophenia," channeling the vibrant "Mod" subculture that defined the era and the characters throughout. The moped, a central symbol of Mod identity and seen throughout the movie, serves as the focal point, surrounded by psychedelic patterns and bold colours that evoke the album’s themes of self-discovery and rebellion. The checkerboard motif and stylized typography reinforce the retro aesthetic, tying together the film and album's visual and cultural essence.
